Well, this should make a lot of people feel better.

After controlling possession yet still trailing 1-0 due to a Robert Morris PK, the Hounds looked frustrated. A goal by Angulo broke the ice, and he followed through with 2 more goals to cap off a 5-2 Riverhounds victory over Robert Morris University.

Miro Cabrillo and Robert Vincent joined in on the fun, scoring a goal each. The team absolutely DOMINATED the second half, and it was rare to see the college side maintain possession for more than a minute at a time.

This is more of what we will come to expect from the Hounds this season. And El Tanque will lead the way.

  • Take back everything we said about Angulo looking out of shape the first game — he looked every bit as good as 2013 in this game. He and Dallman click on so many levels, and it was mesmerizing to watch them work the middle of the field together. Jose plays a very physical game as a forward, and he was constantly dribbling through contact and working spaces in front of the goal. His last goal in particular was absolutely brilliant — a 35 yard strike that sailed in the top corner of the net. Good to have you back, Jose.
  • Dallman and Vincent are poised to have huge seasons. Dallman consistently gets balls into the opposing penalty area, and Vincent displays high levels of creativity with moving the ball through tight spaces. Look for both players to be in the Hounds’ starting XI on 4/12.
  • Miro Cabrillo has been brimming with confidence as of late. He scored a goal off of a header in the second half to tie the game 2-2, and looked at home in the Hounds’ starting line up. He has looked vastly superior to Mike Seth at forward, and uses his large frame to borderline run over other players. Look for him to be locked into a roster spot before the season.
