Playoffs baby! After a rollercoaster of a season the Riverhounds are back in the post season where they belong. Last week might as well have been a playoff game with the do or die game in Harrisburg. The Hounds got the job done, and any post season nerves the team might have were left in Harrisburg. Because of some stumbles through out the season the Hounds championship run is going to be completely on the road. Fortunately for them a first round match up against New York Red Bulls II is probably the best they could’ve hoped for. Over the last few years the Hounds have done pretty well against the Red Bulls organization. This season they dominated the Baby Bulls at Highmark Stadium to the tune of 3-0, but lost back in May at Red Bull Arena 3-2. That loss was aided with a own goal, and one of the first instances of the Hounds giving up a late goal. The Hounds went 5-2 against MLS II during the regular season. Even though it’s on the road I like the Hounds chances to come home with a win.

Not much to say about the Baby Bulls. They’re one of the few decent MLS II teams. Who knows what kind of roster we’ll see. The Red Bulls play at home Friday night, and while there is a roster freeze in effect, the Red Bulls probably have a lot of guys eligible from how much they’ve sent people back and forth. Let’s hope their team chemistry is low.

As you read there a bus load of our finest are on their way to Red Bull Arena to show Red Bulls II what it’s like to have fans. The rest of us are heading down to Piper’s to watch. The slate is wiped clean, the playoffs are a new season. Anything can happen. No matter what it’s going to be exciting, and it’s great to see the hype across social media. We know everyone in Red Bull Arena tonight is going to do us proud. It’s tough not to get ahead of ourselves. I admit I already have Rochester next week circled. Before we can book that bus though, the Hounds have a job to do.

We have no strings.

Give ’em hell boys!

COME ON YOU HOUNDS!
