We’re officially less than a month away from the start of the Riverhounds inaugural season at Highmark Stadium. April 13th can’t come soon enough!
Earlier this week the Riverhounds started their training for the upcoming season. Even though the facilities at Highmark Stadium aren’t completely done yet, the Hounds are not going to let the field go to waste. Yesterday the Hounds kicked off their preseason with a win draw over the New England Force. This was the first soccer match played at Highmark Stadium, and teased us with a glimpse of what is to come.
The Hounds also released their preseason schedule which can be found at the bottom of the post. All preseason matches at Highmark Stadium are currently closed to the public, but that’s not going to stop us! On Thursday March 22nd at 7:00pm the Riverhounds take on West Virginia University. The Steel Army will be invading the bike path and showing the team a glimpse of what is to come. Come on down and join us cheering on the boys as we thrash those hillbillies! Don’t forget your song sheet which can be found on the right. After the match many of us will be joining the Steel City Outlaws at the Claddagh in the South Side Works to watch the US Men’s National Team take on Costa Rica at 10:00pm for Hex Game 2. It’s going to be a great night of soccer in Pittsburgh!
