Know Your Enemy: Charlotte

Opponent: Charlotte Independence

Record: 7-6-4 (7th in East)

The Charlotte Independence are currently in a three game winless streak, losing the last two games at home to Wilmington and the Red Bulls II. Well traveling to Highmark Stadium should be the perfect remedy of the Independence to break their recent run of bad form.

The Independence are 7-6-4, sitting in the bottom playoff places of the Eastern Conference, visiting Pittsburgh before going to Richmond on Wednesday. Charlotte has won only two of their last nine games since staring 5-2, once sitting near the the top of the East.

In a season that has had some strange event s for the Hounds, the Independence bowed out of the US Open Cup in a very odd way, losing 5-0 in extra time to their NASL neighbors the Carolina Railhawks.

Charlotte dont seem to have any standout players and get their goals from a handful of players, with four scoring 4 a piece.

The Independence have three supporters groups, why is it necessary for teams to have three supporters groups? Im not sure, but they do. Jack’s Militia and the QC Royals are your pretty standard USL Supporter group. The third, Slogics Army are a bunch of college kids devoted to player Patrick Slogic.

Charlotte also hosted Swansea City of the Premier League on July 13th 2-0.  Would be nice to see the Hounds do that, but let’s just get through the rest of this season without another disaster.

See yinz tonight, lets try and enjoy the rest of the season.
