GAME 29 RECAP: Wooooooooooooooo

Hounds-Indy.jpg

Woke up this morning feeling fine
I’ve got the Riverhounds on my mind
Lilley’s got the boys playing the way they should
Oh yeah!

It wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t easy, but oh was it exciting. The Hounds put on a show Saturday night, taking down visiting Indy 3-2. Saturday’s victory keeps them in the hunt for second place (Louisville also won), but equally as important it’s one step closer to clinching a playoff spot.

Just like a couple weeks ago playing against Indy was a high scoring affair, but it took a half to get going. The first half didn’t leave a lot to get excited about. The Hounds controlled play pretty well and had more dangerous chances than Indy, but weren’t able to convert anything. The only thing really of note was seeing the distinct playing style of each side of the Hounds…

GAME 25 QUICK RECAP: Gridiron Football

Uuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

What a mess of a game. Between the field, the ref, and both keepers making terrible decisions, I don’t know what you can take away from it other than the Hounds once again drop points. With nine games to go, even with the possible six point swing against Cincinnati whatever challenges the Hounds has hope for first place is pretty much gone. Which is fine. After a couple seasons at the bottle no one would have thought they’d come this far in one season. The team has a nearly equal buffer to the last playoff spot so I think we can feel good about that. The goal now should be to…

GAME 8 RECAP: Defense Wins Championships

It wasn’t for the lack of trying though. This was one of those deceptive matches where if you looked at the box score and the teams involved you might assume it was a snooze fest. Friday night was anything but. Both teams came out pretty tentative to start as they felt each other out. After the first 15 minutes or so the Hounds decided they had enough of that and really put the pressure on Indy for the rest of the match.

The Hounds played an incredibly aggressive game, making Indy’s midfield looked like they forgot how to properly pass. I lost count of how many…
