Its time!

No need to analyze this one. Its the big game of the year.

Three huge points for the table on the line.

A win, draw, or any one goal loss other than 1-nil brings the Cup back to Pittsburgh.

The Old Guard Shield is still as tight at the USL East. A win puts us in the driver’s seat and essentially ens Harrisburg’s hopes.

Yeah. Big game.

Bus leaves at 11. McGrath’s pub for the pre and post game… Unless people decide…

What a time to face Harrisburg, no? The Riverhounds, coming off their most disappointing result of the season, are coming home to play one of the biggest matches of the season. It will be a test to show if the squad has the resilience to bounce back and put together a full 90 minutes against their in-state rivals at a time when three points would be critical. It’s hard to say that you have must-wins in the first 10 matches of the season, but it’s…

Know Your Enemy: Harrisburg

Record: 4-11-1 (11th in East)

We all know how important Monday’s game is in taking the first step to retain the Keystone Cup and begin to build some momentum as the games will start to come fast in July. Dan’s earlier piece on the pride and passion that goes in to these matches really says it all when it comes to Harrisburg.

So how are the City Islanders doing in comparison with the Hounds, well not good. They are sitting near the bottom of the East, in 11th place with 13 points from 4 wins. City’s high point was on May 24th when they beat Toronto at home to improve to 4-5-1, since then they have lost 6 straight and are certainly ripe for the picking. Unfortunately I have written that phrase too many times this season and many…

Derby Weekend

Clearly, this season hasn’t gone like many of us hoped.

Clearly, this is something we have to say all too often.

Clearly, times are tough.

But, despite everything that has been a mess and a joke of season, there are still a few games that will always matter and will always be bigger than just those 90 minutes.

One of those games is on Monday.

The Harrisburg City Islanders roll into town and there is only everything on the line. It’s the first of three matchups against our in-state rivals and retaining the Keystone Cup will go a long way in salvaging an otherwise forgettable season. Harrisburg deserves nothing and should be given even less. Everyone needs to be walking into Highmark Stadium on Monday evening with the express purpose of making things uncomfortable for Nick Noballs and company for two hours. No letting up or…
