The Hounds and a busfull of supporters will be traveling to Harrisburg this Saturday hoping to reclaim the Keystone Cup for the second time in the trophy’s three year history.  The two teams come in to the match on almost identical runs of form, neither team winning in their last five games.  The teams are also pretty much deadlocked in the standings at 24 points each with Harrisburg in 11th with the Hounds sitting in 12th, but both teams are not far out of the playoffs.

If you think the Hounds have trouble scoring than you would really hate to be supporting Harrisburg, who have not scored in their last four games, three losses and a scoreless draw.

For a team struggling…

Know Your Enemy Reloaded: Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay seems to be on the right track after a bit of a rough stretch where they went 0-3-4 in May and June, including a 2-0 loss in Pittsburgh in June. After losing to Charleston the week following the Hounds loss, the Rowdies have won 2 of 3 with impressive victories over Cincinnati and Charleston.

The Hounds had a bit of a disappointing against Charleston on Wednesday night and look to bounce back in Tampa. If they are come away with any points on Saturday the Hounds will have to do what few teams have done in Tampa this season.  The Rowdies are 7-1-2 at home this season with the loss coming to the Battery.

Tampa Bay is in 4th place in the East with 31 points, 5 behind first place Charleston and 7…

Know Your Enemy: Rochester 6-3-7 (7th in East, 25 pts)

rhinos

The Hounds travel to upstate New York on Saturday to face off with the Rhinos for the first time on 2017, a little late in the year to be facing their longtime USL rivals.

The Rhinos are 1-2-2 in their last five games and are 7th in the Eastern Conference with 25 points, 4 ahead of the Hounds with playing two less games.

Rochester’s season has been highlighted by victories over Tampa Bay and Cincinnati with a 4-0 thrashing of Charlotte thrown in there. The campaign has been up and down, similar to the Hounds.  The only win for the Rhinos in that time was a 1-0 victory over Harrisburg at home.

Jochen Graf is the teams co-leading scorer with 4 goals, Graf returned to the US in 2017 after spending time playing in the lower divisions in Germany and Sweden.

Also with four goals is Way Fall, which…

Know Your Enemy Reloaded: Louisville City (6-1-4, 3rd in East)

louisville

Louisville City came into the May 20th meeting at Highmark Stadium leading the Hounds by one point in the upper tier of the Eastern Conference standings and was facing a Hounds team that was coming off three wins on the spin. As we know, Louisville won that encounter 1-0 in a frustrating familiar night on the Mon and the match that night has set the two teams on very different tracks since.  Louisville is unbeaten in the last month, beating Charlotte and the Red Bulls while drawing 4-4 in a wild match in Charleston.

Meanwhile the Hounds have done the exact opposite, drawing twice on the road and losing another frustrating match at home to Orlando City. Pittsburgh is now set to travel to Louisville for a tough road match on Saturday against third place City, who is 6-1-4.
