mash-sign

It’s not the schedule, but the next best thing. Yesterday afternoon the USL announced the 2017 conference alignment as well as some general schedule dates. The Western Conference will be… whatever! We won’t see any of those teams until the finals. Your 2017 Eastern Conference tributes are-

Bethlehem Steel FC
Charleston Battery
Charlotte Independence
FC Cincinnati
Harrisburg City Islanders
Louisville City FC
New York Red Bulls II
Orlando City B
Ottawa Fury FC
Pittsburgh Riverhounds
Richmond Kickers
Rochester Rhinos
Saint Louis FC
Tampa Bay Rowdies
Toronto FC II

This year the Eastern Conference picked up three “new” teams with the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the Ottawa Fury, and the return of Saint Louis FC. If you are unaware Tampa and Ottawa come from the NASL and are not completely new teams. You may recall Tampa from the dramatic last minute goal by Rob…

Richard reached out to our President, Maria Petrillo, last night to say his goodbyes and thanked the Army for a fun and memorial season and wished us all the best in the future.

We would like to take this moment to thank Richard for a fantastic season that saw a change in how the…

Some Saturday Quasi-News

Two bits of almost non-news leaked out of Twitter the last couple of days. But, seeing as there isn’t much to report, we’ll take what we can get.

First up, USLPro has made their first hint at releasing a schedule…

@mgharbron League alignment will be announced along with the schedule, aim is for January.

— USL PRO (@USLPRO) December 27, 2014

“Aiming for January” isn’t exactly the loftiest of standards. Last season, the schedule wasn’t released until January 31, with the late addition of LA Galaxy II holding up the announcement. By the time the schedule was released, everyone was openly mocking league management and the opportunity for Highmark Stadium to schedule other events was severely limited. Here’s to hoping the league not screwing this up as badly as last time. Remember, the Red Bulls II team isn’t official yet, despite everyone knowing it’s going to happen. Let’s see…
