*Seinfield image* Rochester! */Seinfield* The Rhinos are in town tonight to try to bore the Riverhounds to sleep. We’re not going to let that happen. Rochester is always a tough match up, but even though they’re currently sitting in 3rd they aren’t a scary team. A tough defense to crack sure, but that’s about it. They’re the mid 00’s New Jersey Devils. Frustrating games to play and watch but you gotta get past them if you want to be hang with the best. Last week was rough, obviously, but it’s old news. The Hounds have had a full week…

Game 19 Recap: Another Draw

Three games, three draws. It’s been a real up and down road trip and yet the Hounds came away with the same result each time. I kind of don’t know what to make of it. They played a match they probably should’ve lost, a match they definitely should’ve won, and a match that was fairly even. You could shuffle the matches around like a shell game to figure out which one is which. All I know is while this stretch of games hasn’t been flashy, the results are keeping them hanging around the playoff hunt; which at the end of the day is what we want.

The Hounds went up to Rochester and came home with a point. Something that they don’t have a lot of history of, so on it’s own it’s a nice result. In the context of the season though it’s…

Another road game, another weird start time. Tonight the Hounds travel to upstate New York to take on the Rochester Rhinos for the first time this season. Both teams are playing pretty average this year with Rochester having a slight edge. They’re currently sitting 4 points ahead of the Hounds but have two games in hand. The Hounds have traditionally struggled in Rochester, and haven’t won there since 2014. To add to the challenge Rochester is 4-1-0 over the last 5 games at home. Pittsburgh on the other hand is draw city on the road lately. It’s not necessarily…

Know Your Enemy: Rochester 6-3-7 (7th in East, 25 pts)

The Hounds travel to upstate New York on Saturday to face off with the Rhinos for the first time on 2017, a little late in the year to be facing their longtime USL rivals.

The Rhinos are 1-2-2 in their last five games and are 7th in the Eastern Conference with 25 points, 4 ahead of the Hounds with playing two less games.

Rochester’s season has been highlighted by victories over Tampa Bay and Cincinnati with a 4-0 thrashing of Charlotte thrown in there. The campaign has been up and down, similar to the Hounds.  The only win for the Rhinos in that time was a 1-0 victory over Harrisburg at home.

Jochen Graf is the teams co-leading scorer with 4 goals, Graf returned to the US in 2017 after spending time playing in the lower divisions in Germany and Sweden.

Also with four goals is Way Fall, which…
