Well, well, well…the news just keeps getting better and better today. The Hounds have finalized a deal with Jhonny Arteaga and now we’re being linked with Harrisburg’s stalwart defender, Andrew Marshall.
Marshall played in 21 league games last season, in addition to 4 cup games and Harrisburg’s playoff loss at Charleston. He was arguably their most consistent player in 2012 and had Harrisburg head coach Bill Becher singing his praises:
“He’s adapted well to whoever he’s played with,” City Islanders head coach Bill Becher said of Marshall, who signed on with Harrisburg prior to last season. “And yeah, that’s not easy as a center back, to have a different person playing with him.
“He’s fit, he’s strong and he wants to play. That’s important, too,” Becher adds. “He’s excited for the games, he’s fighting for everything, he battles for everything.
“He’s a guy that we count on to go hard for 90 minutes.
Marshall also starred for a mediocre Crystal Palace Baltimore (USL-2) team from 2007 until 2010, totaling 82 games and scoring 4 goals.
We look for Marshall to compete for a starting spot at center back with team captain Louie Rolko and fan favorite Niko Katic.
