The Hounds just got spanked by the Charlotte Eagles, 2-0.

The Hounds have yet to record a win this month.

This away trip will continue to get uglier and uglier if the Hounds do not find a way to come out of Blackbaud with a win. The offense has been stagnant, and the defense has been porous. As Hounds fans, this has been a worst-case scenario to begin the 2013 USL PRO campaign.

Look for Evans to make major adjustments to this roster to try to inspire some confidence in the Hounds. There is a crapload of talent on this roster. They just need to put all of the working pieces together to spoil the party in Charleston.

LAST MEETING: May 31, 2012 – Chartiers Valley High School – 3-1 Battery

HOUNDS PLAYER TO WATCH: Kevin Kerr, M – Kerr was signed late by the Hounds in the offseason. A Scottish footballer born in Germany, Kerr has experience playing for DSC Arminia Bielefeld in the 3. Bundesliga League, as well as with other international clubs. Kerr brings unique experience and perspective to the Hounds’ midfield, and recorded the Hounds’ only goal in Dayton from a Matty Dallman cross. Look for Kerr to make his presence felt within the Hounds’ line-up.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: Charleston Battery Official Website

Four different Battery players scored in last week’s match [against Antigua] to claim the first win of the 2013 season and bring the Battery record to 1-1-0. Heviel Cordoves, Ben Fisk, Dane Kelly and Zach Prince each recorded their first goals of the season…

…The two sides have met 16 times since 1999, each team has five wins and the two have had six draws. Last season, the Battery enjoyed the better of the series, winning both games and scoring a total of four goals. Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between the two teams since May of 2012 – the teams will face off for a second and final time on June 15 in Pittsburgh.
