Still struggling to find the right chemistry in the final third this preseason, coach Evans has secured the services of striker José Angulo.
José spent last season with MLS’ New York Red Bulls after a 2011 rookie campaign in Harrisburg where he led the club with 9 goals. He was limited in 2012 after picking up injuries and was eventually released. Angulo shared the front line with Juan Agudelo (Chivas USA) at St. Benedict’s High School in Newark and was one of the top prospects in the country before turning pro and heading off to Europe.
Scouting reports list his strength and deadly left foot as his best assets. He also has good speed and isn’t shy about running at defenders. He’s just getting settled here in Pittsburgh so it may take some time to mesh with the current squad. Once a can’t miss prospect, we’re hoping that José can find his top form and jump-start his career.
