Colin Dunlap says one more loss until Pittsburghers give up on the Riverhounds. That sounds about right.
This team has huge expectations this season, and rightfully so. The team went out and signed ALL five of its target players. Andrew Marshall was brought in to solidify the defense. Michael Seamon, Ryan Kinne, and Jhonny Arteaga were brought in to make it rain goals. If this team continues to remain in this funk, attendance will drop at The Highmark VERY quickly.
FIRST HALF
28′ Lions’ Garner issued a red card for punching someone in the Hounds’ D. Jagoff.
34′ Angulo fouls a Lion
41′ Caution issued to Kevin Kerr
44′ Bardsley navigates through 3 Hounds defenders and scores, 1-0 Lions
STOPPAGE: Motagalvan crosses a ball into the penalty area, and Angulo answers, 1-1
SECOND HALF
74′ C’deBaca gets some kind of a foul
76′ Lions sub in Kissinger for Khutaidze
80′ Shintaro fouls someone on the Hounds’ side
85′ Rob Vincent replaces Seth C’deBaca for the Hounds
88′ Lord from the Lions flops, Granger subs in for him
STOPPAGE: CK, Klasser scores on an assist by Broekhuzen, 2-1 Lions
NOTES:
- About a dozen Steel Army members made the trek to Dayton. Lots of memories of playing at Chartiers Valley HS relived by playing at Beavercreek High School. The Oranje Legion was invisible.
- Angulo continues to be the only source of offense for the Hounds. Arteaga really needs to step up and start scoring. Disappointing to see Amoo not getting more looks considering how great he looked in the preseason.
- This is the second straight game that the Hounds’ D has been gauged for a late goal. Something needs to happen on that back line, now. Maybe Costanzo–traditionally a midfielder–is out of place.
