“Flood gates about to open.” Those are some powerful words, but it is exactly what needs to happen for the Hounds to turn their season around.

Jhonny Arteaga has peppered opposing goalies with 14 shots. Jose Angulo has been everywhere inside the opponents’ penalty area. Matty Dallman has been making opposing defenders look like pylons with his fancy footwork along the side of the field. Kinne, Kerr, and Motagalvan continue to generate opportunities.

What is missing is the final “piece” of the puzzle. Is this final “piece” a player? A moment? A tactical change?

We don’t have the answer. All we can do is continue to support our Hounds as they pick themselves up by their bootstraps and move into LA to take three points from a tough LA Blues opponent.

LAST MEETING: July 31, 2012 – Chartiers Valley High School – 2-0 Blues

HOUNDS PLAYER TO WATCH: Sterling Flunder, D – Flunder is a player who has been with the Hounds for the past few seasons. He had a strong showing last season, solidifying the Hounds’ back line and even pushing up the field to join in on the attack. If the Hounds are ever going to shore up their D, it is going to begin with Sterling Flunder. It will be interesting to see if Flunder and the rest of the defense have learned from their early mistakes and can clog up the middle of the field for the other team.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: LA Blues Official Website

The Blues currently sit in second place with a 4-3-0 record. In their last game, Los Angeles defeated a 10-man Wilmington Hammerhead team, 4-0, with goals scored by Shay Spitz, Mershad Momeni, Chris Cortez and Juan Perez-Bernal…

…Pittsburgh won’t only have their hands full with the Blues offense, but also with the Blues defense. Goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski and the rest of the Blues defense has yet to allow a goal at Titan Stadium.
