The Riverhounds’ family lost an important member this Saturday.

Paul A. Heasley was the first owner of the Riverhounds, and was instrumental to bringing soccer to Pittsburgh.

The number “99” is the only number retired for the Riverhounds, in honor of the Hounds joining the USL A-League in 1999 under Heasley’s leadership. They played their first games at Bethel Park High School in the South Hills.
