The third and fourth rounds of the MLS SuperDraft concluded today with as little ho-hum as the first two rounds.
The only reason we are interested in this year’s SuperDraft is the fact that the Dynamo’s selections could very well be loaned to the Riverhounds for this upcoming season.
Houston had traded away any 4th round picks that it had, but they did make a selection in the 3rd round.
ROUND 3, PICK #54
It looks like MLS grabbed the first Facebook photo they could…
Michael Lisch
Goalkeeper, New Mexico
Scouting report from University of New Mexico:
Finished 2012 with a record of 9-2-4 in 16 starts… Posted a 0.68 GAA, which was second in the ACC and ninth nationally… Recorded a clean sheet in seven of his nine victories while making 34 saves in those 16 appearances… Notched victories against NC State and NCAA Tournament participant Virginia… Member of the Academic All-ACC Team… Member of the Dean’s List.
OUR TAKE: With Tyler Deric already seemingly the heir-apparent to Tally Hall in Houston, it seems as though there might not be room for Lisch on the active roster. Enter the Riverhounds. While Hunter and the Monogahela Monster have showed flashes of brilliance in their time in Pittsburgh, both goalkeepers have left us scratching our heads on various occasions. Late game collapses became the story of the 2013 season for the Riverhounds, and added competition may bring out the best in all three goaltenders. At 6’4″, Lisch is not a small man. Look to see him as one of the four players loaned to the Hounds this offseason.
