Tournament Day: 2014 Steel Army Open

Cabin Greens Golf Course – 1pm

Tournament Day, kids.

With a mostly disappointing 2014 Riverhounds campaign in the books, it’s time for a final get together before winter sets in and the planning for 2015 kicks into high gear.

A couple notes for today so that we can get the most out of our time;

– This is way harder than you would think. A couple of us went out last weekend to try it out and have a better idea of logistics for today. Our collective pride took a hit. Be prepared to be a little frustrated. Let the beer calm the nerves.

– We are imposing a stroke limit for every hole of two times par. So, it’s a par three hole, a maximum of six strokes. Maximum of eight strokes on par four holes and 10 strokes on par five holes.

– Holes 16 and 17 are impossible. Not hard… impossible. Our deepest respect to anyone finishes either hole before the maximum.

– The course is ours for the afternoon. No other golfers or footgolfers.

– Please refer to the map on your scorecard. There are a couple holes, especially on the front nine, where there are multiple flags within view. Please be sure of where you are playing towards.

– Your group’s starting hole will be determined by lottery during registration.

– You will pay the Steel Army (cash only please) for registration. $25 for non-members and $20 for members.

– If you wish to rent a soccer ball or golf cart, you will do that with the course. $3 for a soccer ball and $10 for a golf cart.

– We have purchased a keg of beer that will be covered in your registration. Not sure yet where we will set-up the keg. We may try to strap it to a cart and drive it around the course.
