The Sugar Free Red Bulls have used 30 different players over their first six games. 30! The only person to appear in all six matches is Sanchez Manolo. So, good luck predicting who will show up to play. Luckily, for the Hounds, the MLS club played yesterday in Foxboro which would severely limit the ability for NYRBII to receive a horde of one day loanees, which is what happened for New York’s only win of the season, thus far.
More importantly, the Riverhounds need to take a professional approach to this match. It does have some of the makings of the classic ‘trap game’. Namely; a big win last week, a weaker opponent today, and heading into what could be the hardest stretch of games starting next week. If Mark Steffens can keep everyone focused on today, as opposed to last week or next week, the Hounds should be in a good position to pick up their first road win of the season.
The match kicks off in less than three hours, the Highmark Bar will be open in less than two, and in less than five the Hounds could be in double digit points after game six. Last year that happened in game 15. Get off your computer or phone. It’s too nice outside.
