Hey boys and girls, we’re officially under two months until the Rochester away trip! Saturday June 27th we’re taking as many of you all as we can to go Rhino hunting. This will be the first time we’ve made a trip to Rochester and Sahlen’s Stadium, and I have to say I am PUMPED! Last year the Riverhounds won their first game in the USL PRO era (if ever) away at Rochester. It was so nice we gotta do it twice! The best part? The trip is COMPLETELY FREE for Steel Army members. All you have to pay for is your beverages (adult or otherwise). Many thanks to Riverhounds president Richard Nightingale for picking up the tab! With practically no cost to you there’s no excuse not to come! Steel Army away trips are always memorable and extremely fun! Don’t believe me? Busting out the TIFO & getting that sucker up on the Youtube stream felt pretty good, too. I personally enjoyed agitating the other fans simply with our presence. We ended up with a pretty cool family of Harrisburg supporters next to us who playfully shit-talked and messed around with us the whole night. It was good times.

Just hanging out on the bus was half the fun for me, though. Singing all the way up (and back, for some), getting some new songs going…chatting & getting to know people better was a great experience.

I always talk about how we’re a weird second-family with so many varied interests and different lives outside of the Steel Army…it’s cool when we can bond and form friendships (however unlikely some may be) that keep us coming back to have a good time. The bus trip is a great place to do that, I think.
