Hey gang. The high from Wednesday night still hasn’t worn off, but the USL season stops for no one. I want to take a minute and give you a reminder of a couple upcoming events.
This Saturday the Hounds are taking on F.C. Montreal at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is at 7pm. Tailgate is at 4. Let’s keep the rockin atmosphere from Wednesday night going!
Next Saturday the 27th is our away trip to Rochester. The bus is full so if you snoozed, sorry. Maybe next year we’ll take two! If you signed up for the trip come back to the blog Sunday night for more details.
July 4th is the third annual Riverhounds July 4th game (nice ring to it eh?). This is one of the biggest games of the year in terms of having just a great time downtown all day. Plus you can’t beat watching fireworks from Highmark Stadium. Our tailgate starts early in the afternoon for an all-day hangout. The West lot is reserved for ticket holders, but it still fills up early. If you haven’t gotten tickets yet you better act soon before it’s too late!
We’re officially at 120 members! We’re absolutely floored by the growth of the group this year and thank each and every one of you who signed up. If you’re still sitting on the fence for some reason and want one of our 2015 membership scarves you better hurry up. We only ordered 125 for this season. Once they are gone that’s it. You’ll still be able to sign up for a membership, but you’ll receive a bridge scarf instead. Remember, all funds raised through dues go towards Steel Army events, ordering merch, and doing things like tifo.
Speaking of tifo we have another painting day coming up. The one we did for the Open Cup game was a big hit. We have one planned for the July 4th game that I think will be just as good. WE NEED HELP PAINTING IT. It took 5 of us ~6 hours to do the Vincent one. The July 4th tifo could take just as long if we don’t get more help. So PLEASE if you want us to keep doing these things we need your support. Painting for the July 4th tifo will be Wednesday evening, July 1st. We’ll start around 6:30 pm and go as late as we need to. The location is again at Maria’s. If you don’t know where this is shoot us a message and we’ll get you the address. Please bring a paint brush and container to hold the paint.
Finally, a pair of events for some friends of ours you should definitely check out.
Steel City FC, Pittsburgh’s amateur women’s team, has their next home game this Saturday at 3pm. They’re a great group of ladies and we would love to show them as much support as possible. So head on over to The Ellis School stadium and cheer them on!
Our friends over at the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Outlaws are having a watch party for the US Women’s National team as they take on Columbia in the knock out round of the Women’s World Cup. Head on over to the Claddagh in the South Side Works on Monday night at 8 pm for what should be a fun night.
