There is a rumor circulating that the Hounds have been in contact with the representatives of recently released defender David Carney.  David, who’s played for an impressive list of clubs in the past, was released by New York (MLS) early last week.  He appeared in 9 games after being reunited with fellow countryman Tim Cahill, including 2 playoff matches where he struggled vs Houston.  David is a left-footed player who can play both left back and left midfield.  From all indications, he was a disappointment in New York but should

Hounds and Dynamo announce affiliation

Today the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and the Houston Dynamo announced an affiliation partnership for the 2014 season. We saw how affiliation helped a number of teams last season with the poster child being Orlando. The Hounds weren’t kidding when they said they wanted to follow Orlando’s model on their road to an MLS franchise. Kutney emphasized again, “we want to be the next Orlando.” While the pros and cons of affiliation can be argued, by signing top players of their own this off season and affiliating with one of the best
