Heasley was the first owner of the Riverhounds, and was instrumental to bringing soccer to Pittsburgh. The number “99” is the only number retired for the Riverhounds, in honor of the Hounds joining the USL A-League in 1999 under Heasley’s leadership. They played their first games at Bethel Park High School in the South Hills. #RIP99

By @SAdyson We all knew that Saturday’s match against the Charleston Battery was going to be a tough one. The Battery are the 2012 defending USL PRO champs, and came into the Highmark to steal 3 points from the Hounds. In front of a crowd of 3,400+, however, the Hounds–more times than not–outplayed the visitors and put pressure on their side of the field. The Battery drew blood first, but the goal machine in Jose Angulo was able to equalize late and give the home crowd something to cheer for.
