Game 15 Recap: Head Over Heels

Even a couple a days after the fact I’m still buzzing about the Hounds win on Thursday. They came out against one of the best teams in the Eastern conference and just asserted their will for most of the match. It was a trap game where for once we were the trap. I don’t know if the roster shakeup is what did it or if Brandt really laid into them this week after the abysmal Louisville loss, but whatever it was it worked. This is the Hounds team we like

Know Your Enemy: Tampa Bay

The Hounds host third place Tampa Bay Thursday night at Highmark, the first time the two teams have faced each other in USL league play, with Tampa joining the USL from the NASL this year. The Rowdies are no stranger to Highmark stadium though, visiting in 2015 for a US Open Cup tie that Rob Vincent would win for the Hounds in extra time. Despite being third in the east, Tampa Bay is on a bit of a downswing in the form table, winless in their last five games, going

Weekday Hangover: Panic. Don’t Panic.

In lieu of a recap I thought I’d dust off the old Weekday Hangover and ramble for a few. I actually don’t really know where to go with this. Know Your Enemy Reloaded: Louisville City (6-1-4, 3rd in East)

Louisville City came into the May 20th meeting at Highmark Stadium leading the Hounds by one point in the upper tier of the Eastern Conference standings and was facing a Hounds team that was coming off three wins on the spin. As we know, Louisville won that encounter 1-0 in a frustrating familiar night on the Mon and the match that night has set the two teams on very different tracks since.  Louisville is unbeaten in the last month, beating Charlotte and the Red Bulls while drawing 4-4 in a

Game 13 Recap: Bottles

In a battle of who could miss a shot the worst, the Hounds are returning from the great white north with a point. Last week Coach Brandt dropped some scathing quotes after the loss to Harrisburg, rightfully so, and at least during the first half it looked like the Hounds heard it loud and clear. The Hounds opened up the game looking very cool and confident. The midfield was controlling the ball well when they had it, and getting it back quick when they didn’t. Unfortunately as has been the
