Game 2 Recap: Hounds Stumble to a Loss
Just a week after a thrilling 3-3 draw and feeling pretty ok about the season, Cincinnati came to town to knock us down a peg with a 1-0 reality check. Probably the most frustrating aspect of that cold Saturday night is the Hounds continued to look pretty decent in the first half. They were controlling the ball well and pressing the attack. Know Your Enemy: Cincinnati Happy Friday my fellow Hounds supporters as we are finally rolling in to the weekend and the big match with FC Cincinnati, it’s another 5pm kickoff on the Mon. In Saturday’s post when I talked about wanting the team to be competitive this match was exactly what I had in mind. Three times the Hounds found themselves down by a goal, and three times they came back to tie it up. At no point either did those tying goals seem like flukes or a stroke or luck. The 2017 season is upon us which means the mess that was 2016 is finally fully behind us. The season opener and home opener combination is like the first day of school after summer break. We’re returning to our well known sections and saying hi to people we haven’t seen in a while. We walk into Highmark Stadium with excitement, and perhaps a bit of nervousness, about what this year will hold. All eyes are on the field as the team gets a fresh start. Everyone is undefeated on opening
