Pittsburgh Riverhounds (3-4-6) at Harrisburg City Islanders (9-3-1)
7:00 PM – Skyline Sports Complex – Harrisburg, PA
Half of us will be leaving Piper’s Pub at 12:30 pm to carpool to Harrisburg, and the other half of us will be cheering the Hounds on at @HoughsPGH starting at 7:00 pm
This is the second leg of the Keystone Derby. We hate the Shitty Islanders, and they hate us.
Legends have been made in Harrisburg, with local cow sculptures defiled, beer showers given to Hounds players after goals, and corner flags from Skyline Sports Complex forcibly removed.
A contingent of the Steel Army is traveling to invade Harrisburg, while those that cannot make the road trip are congregating in Greenfield.
Stealing three points from Harrisburg in their house would jettison the Hounds upward in the USL PRO standings and place them in position to make the playoffs.
LAST MEETING: April 13th, 2013 – Highmark Stadium, Pitsburgh, PA – 2-1 Islanders
WHAT WE SAID IN OUR RECAP:
The Islanders went Three Mile Island along the Mon Bike Path last night and scored two late-game goals to spoil the party in Pittsburgh as the Hounds lost their home opener to the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Every point is important this season if the Hounds are looking to make a big playoff push.
HOUNDS PLAYER TO WATCH: Ryan Kinne, M – The Hounds just announced via their Twitter feed that both Seth C’deBaca and Kevin Kerr will not travel to Harrisburg due to injury’s. Mike Whiteman indicated to us that since the beginning of the season, Kinne has been rehabbing an injury that he sustained either in the Richmond or Harrisburg match. With this big of a void in the midfield, it will be up to players like Kinne to step up and provide scoring chances for the one-man-goal-machine in Jose Angulo.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: Penn Live
Bill Becher, coach of the Islanders:
“They’re a team that’s pretty similar to us,” Becher said following Thursday’s practice. “Hard working. Blue collar. Going to battle for everything, fight for everything, and they don’t give away many goals. They’ve got a guy in Jose [Angulo] that’s hot right now.
“We know they’re as good as anybody in this league. We have to be ready on Friday night and expect a very tough game.”
PROBABLE RIVERHOUNDS STARTING XI: Gilstrap, Costanzo, Marshall, Flunder, Green, Vincent, Motagalvan, Kinne, Dallman, Amoo, Angulo
