TAILGATING: Several SA members are getting to the West Lot at 10:00 AM to begin to save parking spaces for the tailgate. Only individuals that have tickets to the game will be able to park in this lot, so there should be plenty of spots — but, to guarantee a spot in the lot, try to get there as early as possible!

Abraham Lincoln. Douglas MacArthur. Rick Ross.

All are American heroes, but there is no greater American hero of this year than Jason Kutney. In the “House that Jason Built,” Kutney has launched a soccer venue in downtown Pittsburgh that embodies the American dream. That anything is possible.

The Eagles are ahead of the Hounds in the USL PRO table, and a win today would further bolster the Hounds’ playoff hopes.

Let’s do this.

LAST MEETING: April 26, 2013 – Queens Sports Complex, Charlotte, NC – 2-0 Eagles

WHAT WE SAID IN OUR RECAP:

The power of Christ compelled the Eagles to a convincing win over the Riverhounds.

Instead of allowing a late game-winning goal, the Hounds’ D was torn apart in the third minute as the Eagles jumped on the Hounds early. After being reduced to 10 players after a red card in the first half, the Hounds continued to fight an up-hill battle all game. The Eagles finished the Hounds off with a 2-0 win and deserved every minute of this victory.

In four games to open the season, the Hounds have dropped 3 out of 4 games and have only one point to show for the month of April. When you make several huge offseason acquisitions and open a new soccer-specific stadium in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, expectations will continue to be high. Fortunately, the Hounds have only scratched the surface of the 2013 USL PRO season and have nowhere to go but up.

HOUNDS PLAYER TO WATCH: Jose Angulo, F – Angulo now has a chance to become the leading goal scorer in USL PRO for the 2013 season with Dom Dwyer being recalled by Sporting KC from Orlando City. Jose has accounted for well more than half of the Hounds’ goal this season, and should be strongly considered in the running for USL PRO Player of the Year. You can almost count on Jose for a goal a game, which is something that Hounds fans are not used to seeing. Expect him to feed off the energy of the crowd and have a big game on a big stage.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: USL PRO Official Website

“The break from league play was extremely beneficial to the team, it gave us time to rejuvenate our bodies and allow a few players to recover from injuries,” said Head Coach Justin Evans. “Tomorrow night’s game against the Eagles is of utmost importance, with only a few points between us, we must focus on the task at hand and continue moving up in the league standings.”
