Playoffs baby! While it would have been nice to be able to travel to see the game, going up against Orlando may be the best for the Hounds. Pittsburgh played some of their best games this season against Orlando with a 0-0 draw in the first match, and a 1-0 victory in the second. Both team’s defenses are to notch leading to tight defensive contests. We’ll probably see the same in this match as well since there hasn’t been much change to either sides D.

The big story line is both side’s offence. Lately Orlando hasn’t had the same spark they had in the first half of the season, posting only average numbers compared to the rest of the league. On the Hounds side they’ve really picked it up in the second half and are peaking at the right time. Orlando has been hurt by injuries and players coming and going, whereas the Hounds have enjoyed a stable roster for the most part.

The Hounds only scored 11 goals on the road this season, but fortunately for them this will probably be a low scoring game. With a strong defense, and an offence that has hit its stride, the Hounds are poised to deliver a major upset this off season.

(UPDATED)Note: The winner of this match will play the winner of the Charleston vs Los Angeles match in the second round.

LAST MEETING: August 3rd, 2013 – Florida Citrus Bowl – 1-0 Hounds

HOUNDS PLAYER TO WATCH: Everyone. It’s the playoffs. We live and die as a team.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: USL Website

The Riverhounds and Lions met twice in the regular season, which saw Pittsburgh shut out the two-time USL PRO Regular Season Champions in both matches. With the series advantage going to the Riverhounds in 2013, with a win and a draw, Saturday night’s match-up at Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl should be an intense 90 minutes for all who are in attendance.
