MLS SuperDraft Mock: Who Could End up in Highmark?

By @SAdyson

As the 2014 MLS SuperDraft approaches on January 16th, we will be watching closely as the Houston Dynamo add talented yet raw prospects to their club.

Any or all of these young men could find themselves playing matches at Highmark Stadium this spring and summer, which makes following the MLS SuperDraft worth it.

MLS.com has their second mock draft posted on their website. This is who they have going to the Houston Dynamo:

Kyle Venter (D)

New Mexico

A big, strong centerback with good positioning and composure in releasing pressure, he could fit into the Dynamo back line — suddenly thin after the departure of Bobby Boswell — rather seamlessly. And he’s an absolute monster on set pieces.

Best MLS comparison: Clarence Goodson

At this point, these are only speculations — and any young player taken by the Dynamo in the first round of the draft would not even be guaranteed to be loaned to the Hounds come spring.

A lot will change until next week, but all eyes will be on Houston when they select their players of the future.
