The Riverhounds website announced today that they finally signed forward Miro Cabrilo to the first team.
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds have signed Miroslav Cabrilo to the 2014 squad. Cabrilo will bring depth to the strike force of the Riverhounds as a forward or attacking midfielder. The signing of the Canadian player came just before the FIFA Transfer Window closed on Monday, May 12.
Cabrilo has trained with the Riverhounds since the start of preseason and has proven his ability to earn his first professional contract.
We’ve been scratching our head for a while now on why he wasn’t on the team. Best guess is they were waiting for him to graduate. Miro saw a lot of play time in the preseason and really impressed us. He’s a big strong forward who can plant his feet in the box and not be pushed around. Over the last few weeks we’ve seen what a couple injuries and a suspension does to the Hounds offense. With Collins John back and the addition of Miro hopefully we’ll see a spark in the Hounds offense that they’ve surprisingly been lacking.
The Rochester Rhinos come to Highmark Stadium to take on the Riverhounds this Saturday at 7:00 pm.
