The Hounds, winners of four of their last five matches, look to keep the good times rolling as they face off against Sacramento Republic, tonight, in California. The expansion side has had a terrific first season, sitting in fourth place and drawing impressive crowds every game.

For Pittsburgh, the man advantage and comfortable lead of Salt Lake’s reserve squad allowed Niko Katic the opportunity to sub a couple players out early in the match, with an eye on tonight’s match. Combined that with two new players on the squad, that didn’t see the field in Utah, could mean that Friday night’s match may not be as much of a hindrance on the team as could have been expected. It will be interesting to see who gets the start between the sticks and how the back line is constructed, as the only glaring weakness on Friday was a sub par defense that allowed a pair of goal after being a man up to an otherwise disinterested reserve side.

For Sac, who are quickly earning the title of most obnoxious club and fan base, the team is coming off of an international friendly loss to West Bromwich Albion, of the English Premier League. This was the second match between the two sides in five days, with the English side winning both contests. Will the two mid season friendly matches work in the favor of the Hounds as they come into town desperate to get as many points as possible from every match?
