The Riverhounds have finally announced details on season tickets. The biggest news from the announcement is that a season ticket in the supporter’s section will also include a drink voucher for every game. One of the biggest complaints from last year’s season ticket holders is that there wasn’t any real incentive to purchase season tickets. There wasn’t a discount from single game tickets and there wasn’t any added benefit for season ticket holders. That has been changed this year and the early indication is that the drink vouchers will be the hot trading commodity at the tailgates.

New Riverhounds President, Richard Nightingale, sat down with Matt Gajtka from City of Champions Sports for a fairly wide ranging interview. A lot of interesting things he mentions in there, so we’d recommend you take a few minutes and read the entire interview.

The supporters’ groups for St. Louis and Louisville have announced the King’s Cup. This would be the first formal challenger cup agreement in the USLPro era of the league. The Cascadia Cup started in the A-League and then the USL-1 division. However, don’t be surprised if another challenger cup is announced before the season begins.

The USL-PDL announced their schedule a few days ago. The Hounds U-23 team will play a 14 game schedule. Their home dates are;

5/27 vs. K-W United

6/9 vs. Dayton (who have dropped from USLPro to USL-PDL)

6/17 vs Michigan

6/21 vs West Virginia

6/23 vs. London

7/2 vs Derby City

7/6 vs Toronto FC Academy

Finally, the United States Soccer Federation has announced the format for the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Riverhounds will enter in the 2nd round and will face the winner of an all-amateur contest on May 20. The teams we could possibly face and if the Hounds will host or travel for the 2nd round will be announced April 8. The NASL sides will enter in the 3rd round and the MLS clubs in the 4th round. There is only a week between the 2nd and 3rd rounds, which will lead to a congested schedule for the Hounds, should they advance.
