Hound’s can’t hold out. Lose 4-2
I really dragged my feet to write this post. Not because I’m angry at the loss, or sad, or some other negative emotion. In fact, after the clock hit 120, sitting at Piper’s with some friends, it didn’t take long for me feel pretty ok about the whole thing. I just don’t really have anything else to say at this point. Yeah they lost, and it sucks. I’m sure that bus ride home wasn’t too fun either. But the Hounds were the Hounds, for better or worse. They’ve struggled to hold on to leads and defend set pieces all year, and it did them in. They played their game. It just wasn’t good enough to move on.
At no point on Saturday did I feel like they gave up on it. Last season there were games where the team obviously checked out. Not this year. They gave their all until nothing was left. What more can we ask from our boys? I take this loss and the subsequent end of the season in stride. After a rough 2014 on and off the field, outside of winning it all this season was about as good as you could’ve hoped for. It’s a great building block for the future. And so instead of lamenting I’m going to say cheers to the Hounds.
Cheers to the team for giving it their all.
Cheers for an exciting season.
Cheers to the front office for righting the ship and turning the organization around.
Cheers to Tuffy and his busses.
Cheers to the Steel Army for constantly blowing away my expectations.
It’s time for us to transition to off season mode. I’ll probably do some sort of season recap at some point. There’s also some Steel Army administration stuff to take care of over the coming months. There’s roughly five and a half months until the Hounds kick off the 2016 season. We may got dark for a while, but rest assured we’re already laying the ground work for next year. You’re amazing Army. Can’t wait to see you all back in the Paul Child Stand in 2016.
