Charleston Battery

Record 5-3-3 (4th in Eastern Conference)

The Charleston Battery have been busy since hosting the Hounds in late April to a 1-1 draw. They have played five league matches, winning three and dropping two; beating Toronto, Harrisburg, Wilmington while losing to Rochester and Louisville.

The loss to Louisville was at home and was the team’s first USL loss at MUSC Health Stadium in over two years, ending an impressive run. Battery leading scorer Romario Williams saw red in that game as well and will serve a one game suspension Saturday against the Hounds.

Just like Pittsburgh, they have exited the US Open Cup, losing to the Jacksonville Armada of the NASL in extra time on Wednesday. The 120 minutes played midweek combined with the long bus ride up the east coast could see some heavy legs on the Charleston team come Saturday night.

These factors combined with the one game return of Rob Vincent could see the Hounds taking a much needed three points on Saturday night. More good vibes around the team seem to be happening as we head in to Summer, some decent weather too.  Still awaiting the news from the team that has us on Tuffcon 1!  If and when it happens we will work on getting some info out there.
