2014 MLS SuperDraft: Rounds One and Two

By @SAdyson The MLS SuperDraft is underway, and you can track it here. Normally, as Hounds fans, we’d be rather apathetic towards the SuperDraft. But with the recent affiliation between the Hounds and the Houston Dynamo, we have been paying closer attention to this year’s draft. Although it’s highly unlikely that the player selected in round one–and maybe even round two–would be loaned to the Hounds this season, it is still worth looking at the young talent that Houston has added to its roster.

USL PRO Loses Its Perennial Punching-Bag

By @SAdyson According to the Antigua Observer, Antigua Barracuda FC will not return for the 2014 USL PRO season. Chairman Gordon Derrick blames “financial constraints” — namely, being forced to play all USL PRO matches on the road in the US – for the decision. Antigua was a true bottom feeder in 2014, not recording a single point during the season. They only scored 11 total goals, and allowed a whopping 91 to opposing sides. Orlando City is contemplating moving their own USL PRO franchise to Kentucky when they make the jump to MLS in 2015. USL PRO has released a list of all of the participants in its 2014 Combine. Minnesota United snatched forward Christian Ramirez from the Charlotte Eagles. Ramirez had 12 goals in 26 matches for the Eagles. The Houston Dynamo have released their 2014 preseason schedule.
