The Hounds are coming off two wins–one against Phoenix FC at home last Thursday, and the most recent in the first round of the US Open Cup against the amateur club RWB Adria from Chicago.

The team is beginning to coalesce both offensively and defensively, and it is imperative that the Hounds win against Dayton today at the Highmark.

The Hounds are only 3 points behind Dayton, and a win today would tie them with the Lions.

Expect the Hounds to come out of the gates aggressive and with a chip on their shoulder from the last time the Hounds played the Lions in Dayton.

LAST MEETING: April 20, 2013 – Beavercreek High School – 2-1 Lions

WHAT WE SAID IN OUR RECAP:

Colin Dunlap says one more loss until Pittsburghers give up on the Riverhounds. That sounds about right.

This team has huge expectations this season, and rightfully so. The team went out and signed ALL five of its target players. Andrew Marshall was brought in to solidify the defense. Michael Seamon, Ryan Kinne, and Jhonny Arteaga were brought in to make it rain goals. If this team continues to remain in this funk, attendance will drop at The Highmark VERY quickly.

HOUNDS PLAYER TO WATCH: Seth C’deBaca, M – Seth was the only Hound to tally a goal in the win against RWB Adria on Tuesday in the first round of the open cup. Since coming to the Hounds last season, C’deBaca has been a consistent midfielder in Evans’ mix. He began the season as a starter, and has since dropped to a spot sub. Expect Evans to at least give him a look this match to see if he can help put pressure on the Lions’ back line.
