Welcome to the offseason

Hit the Links

Here we are in the offseason- a little earlier than expected. The Hounds cap off an extremely disappointing season laying a turd at home and now we’re left standing around scratching our heads wondering where did this promising season go oh so wrong. But hey, always look on the bright side of life right? We didn’t finish last and if this was England we weren’t relegated *party whistle*

First and foremost I want to thank everyone who came out to the supporters section this season. What we do is not possible without you. This is the first year we formally kept track of our numbers and it’s completely blown us away. It’s been a rough year for sure, but it’s also the kind of season that will harden you as a die hard supporter. We hope to see you all back in our section with just as much passion next April.

Just because the Hounds are done doesn’t mean we are. In the near future we’ll be taking a look back on the 2014 season and the questions that have come from it. We’ll look towards the 2015 season with the little bit of information we know at this point. Plus there’s the 800 pound gorilla that is the bankruptcy case and the updates that have quietly come out surrounding that. The posts probably won’t be frequent nor keep to a schedule, but keep an eye on the blog and our social media pages over the next few weeks / months.

We also have a kick ass footgolf event coming up! The First Annual Steel Army Open is on Saturday October 4th. Come on out for what should be a really fun time! If you know you’re coming we’d appreciate it if you signed up now so we can plan accordingly.

We’re also going to send out a small survey to Steel Army members in the near future. We want to make sure we’re running things ok and listen to any questions, comments, or concerns about the Steel Army in 2014, or looking towards the future in 2015. Please keep an eye out in your emails for it and please take the time to respond. The more information we receive from you all the better we can make the group.

Finally, at some point in the off season we’ll have our Annual General Meeting. We usually shoot to have it sometime in January or February. We encourage everyone (member or otherwise) to come out as we hash out our plans for 2015. When we have more information on the meeting we’ll make sure to get it out there.

So that’s a little of what you have to look forward to from the Steel Army in the near future. Enjoy your rounds of golf.
